Justin A. Jones, founder
Justin is a proud graduate of Langston University. It was here – while either working as the lead reporter for the campus newspaper, becoming the first student to land an internship at The Daily Oklahoman or participating in the first Time Magazine Journalism Institute – when Justin’s itch to own a public relations and marketing communications company began.
More than 10 yeas later after receiving a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Justin has earned several awards - most notably a 2011 national Silver Paragon for feature writing from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations - for his unique ability to generate publicity and tell stories for the public relations and marketing industry and various print publications, including a daily newspapaer boasting more than a 300,000 circulation.
His sleek, diverse and creative writing style has also led to state and regional awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, Associated Press Managing Editors Association of Texas and Texas Press Association.
As founder of The Mauzo Group, Justin has also used his expertise to manage publicity projects, secure editorial coverage, create copy for marketing collateral, handle media relations, develop and execute strategic plans and assist in creating award-winning advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns.
When he and his Mauzo Maniacs are not executing strategies for clients, Justin freelances for Minority Business News USA and Women’s Enterprise USA, both national magazines.
As a freelancer, Justin has published corporate/leadership profiles, feature stories and supplier diversity, procurement and inclusion articles for major corporations and organizations such as the Billion Dollar Roundtable, AT&T, PepsiCo, Accenture, CVS Caremark, Ernst & Young and Mitchell & Titus, among others.
